Since you carry your smartphone around everywhere, having a range of tools available on it is quite handy. And while most of those tools aren't as precise as dedicated instruments, they do a decent job in a pinch.
On Android, there's no bubble level app installed by default, unlike on an iPhone. But it's still easy to get a bubble level on Android. We'll show you how.
How to Use Google's Bubble Level on Android
Google has tons of widgets that appear on a search results page, such as a calculator, metronome, and even some Google search games. As it turns out, Android's easiest option for a bubble level is also a Google widget.
To access a bubble level---or spirit level---on Android, simply open the Google app on your phone and search for "bubble level". You can speak the words into Google Assistant as well. This will bring up a simple level in a little box at the top of the search results.
Use this like you would an actual bubble level---align your phone against a surface vertically or horizontally to see how level it is. To help measure, you'll see how many degrees off from zero you are, as well as a plus icon to help you make sure everything is flat.
Keep in mind that your device might have the camera lens, a Pop Socket, or some other element jutting out on the back, preventing it from being fully level.
Obviously this can't replace a real level, as your phone's internal sensors can't duplicate the actual tool. Thus, you'll probably want a second opinion for any serious jobs. But for a quick check or just messing around to see how level objects in your home are, it works fine.
Other Android Bubble Level Apps
The level on Google should work well in most cases. And it's not strictly an Android tool---it will work on iPhones and other mobile devices if you search for the same term in the Google app.
But if you need something with more features or don't want to have to search Google every time, you can install a dedicated level app on your phone.
Like flashlight apps, most level apps are unfortunately full of ads and invasive permissions. Thus, you should be careful about which one you install.
PixelProse's Bubble Level is a good choice. It has no ads and only requires a few basic permissions that aren't overkill. The app shows measurements for each side of your phone and includes sound effects so you can check the measurements without looking at your device.

Carry a Bubble Level Everywhere
Now you know how to easily bring up a bubble level on your Android device. Use it next time you're hanging a poster or feel like something isn't quite even. You never know when it might come in handy!
A level isn't the only tool your phone can approximate. You'll find many toolbox apps for Android that include rulers, protractors, and much more.
